Last Christmas, I had the opportunity to experience a unique bed and breakfast stay in Central Florida. I once saw this treehouse getaway featured on the Netflix Show – “Most Amazing Vacation Rentals” and I immediately added it to my bucket list. Then, by a Christmas miracle, there was a cancellation and I was able to stay Christmas Eve evening! Here are a few things to expect if you decide to book a getaway trip for yourself.
Glamping: If you are wanting a full five star hotel experience, this is not the place for you. The treehouse is nestled within the woods of Geneva and situated on Dan’s (the owner) property that also include a few other Air BnB’s, a hangar, and a farm. There are no restaurants on the property, but several options a few miles away. Also, this is a yurt – so basically a glorified tent – in a tree – which is the exact experience I was looking for, but it may not be your cup of tea. Although there is no restaurant, there is a little shop on the property where you can buy a few basic necessities. And it’s open 24 hours (it’s a pay and go type deal). Just hop in your golf cart and take quick drive over!
The Elevator: One of my favorite aspects of the treehouse was the fun little elevator that takes you to the front door of the treehouse. I was a little nervous about it at first because it didn’t feel totally stable, but I loved it by the end. From there, you can a take a few steps up to the third level and enjoy the rooftop swing and watch the goats roam in the field.
The Cozy Feel: The inside of the yurt was decorated really cute and gave off cozy vibes all around. The kitchen provided a coffee maker, microwave, and small fridge. There were also some basic kitchenware and cups. There is a grill outside if you want to do some actual cooking.
Indoor/Outdoor Shower: You’ll wanna also checkout the indoor shower as it is cozy as well. And the outdoor shower since it is another fun and unique experience! The outdoor shower is right next to the hot tub (which is repurposed from a jet engine).

Goats (and other activities): The treehouse includes a golf cart so you can explore all the grounds while you’re there. You can visit the goats and also reserve a time to milk them if you’d like. The website also lists other available activities, so check ahead to see what’s available.
Woodstock: One of my favorite aspects of the whole experience was the time at Woodstock. Dan and his wife Deborah are very welcoming and host drinks with all the guests some evenings at an area called Woodstock. It’s a chance to mingle with some others on the property and get to know the hosts more. Everyone was super friendly and it was nice to sit outside and have a drink while getting to know the other guests. It’s not something you would necessarily experience at a hotel.
Quiet Evening: Exploring during the day was fun, but I also enjoyed relaxing in the evening and listening to the rain fall on the roof of the yurt. The treehouse lights up and I didn’t hear any of the other guests on the property. There’s also a fire pit and a little outdoor tiki bar to enjoy more evening drinks.
Extra things to know: In case a treehouse isn’t your style or if you have more guests (the treehouse only sleeps 2 guests), there are a few more options on the Danville property. There are other yurts, a zen den, and the Danville Inn which holds more guests and is a popular wedding venue. Most importantly, if you don’t want to stay in the woods, don’t bother booking this spot. I read several reviews before booking and most were positive; however, the negative reviews seem to be from guests who were expecting something more fancy with planned entertainment. If you are looking for a quiet getaway with simple entertainment, then book this place today – like, for real, because they are usually booked months in advance.
I would recommend the Treehouse at Danville to anyone looking for a fun treehouse vacation. Dan and Deborah are very hospitable and accommodating. I will say the only thing missing during this stay was Christmas decorations. I think it would have been a nice little touch to add some Christmas decor or a small tree since it was the holiday season. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and look forward to another visit in the future!
Also, don’t forget to enjoy the hot tub. 😉
