In an effort to make healthier choices, I decided to try out a Living Beyond Medicine product. I have never heard of this brand, but according to their website, their products “work to target the symptoms of cellular damage in the body over time which include disease and illness, unfamiliar pain, low energy, weak metabolism and reduced confidence in yourself.” Who doesn’t want that, right? So I gave the Soursop Shake a try.
What is Soursop exactly? Yeah, I didn’t know either. So again, I’ll let their website explain again: “Soursop is a superfood that has the power in combating a variety of chronic diseases and illnesses, thanks to it’s incredibly high vitamin c content, as well as unique anti-oxidants and acetogenins that fight oxidative stress and promote cellular regeneration.” Basically the shake has a bunch of antioxidants, turmeric, elderberry, milk thistle, goji berries, and Irish Sea Moss. Basically, all the stuff you’re supposed to take when you get older to stay healthier and look younger and stuff. However, more on the on the Irish Sea Moss later. But what I really liked about the SourSop shake is that it’s high in fiber, gluten-free, and low in sugar. All good things when you are trying to take charge of your health.
So how did it go??
- Feeling/Effects: The jar only contains 20 servings, so I’m not sure if I was able to see the full benefits of it. I did take it daily for 20 days straight; however, usually with supplements, it takes about 2-3 months to really see the the full benefits. I will say I felt fuller after I took it and felt less bloated. Also to note, I have a pretty regular workout routine. I strength train 3-4 days a week and get in at least 10,000 steps daily. I also run a couple of days a week as well. So I usually took this late morning before lunch or late afternoon before dinner.
- Price: Again, I was given this for free. But you can order this for $39.95 or subscribe for $37.95. This is in the pretty normal range for supplements and other vitamins.
- Taste: Well, the first time my daughter saw me drinking this she asked why I was drinking “sewer water”. Now at this point, I had been drinking this for about a week and I thought it looked more like “pond water”, but after her comment I couldn’t unsee it. When I first tasted it, I thought it tasted like if you were to take some actual pond water and mix it with kool-aid or something. And this is where the Irish Sea Moss comes in. I couldn’t figure out what it tasted like exactly, but whatever you think Irish Sea Moss tastes like, it’s this. But after a few days I did get used to the taste, it’s just a little sweeter than I’m used to with drinks and there was a kind of a grit aftertaste if you don’t shake it up enough. But this is the price to pay if you want to boost your health.

Overall, I think it is a beneficial product. Again, I think you need to try it for 2-3 months to see the benefits. But if you are ready to sell your soul to the magic of Irish Sea Moss in order to be the fairest of them all, then this is the supplement for you. That was a Snow White Evil Queen reference btw. 😉
