In case you missed my last blog post, it was all about how much I despise grocery shopping. But it’s something I’ve got to get better at because nutrition is sort of a big deal (abs are made in the kitchen, right?) and of course I want to be a good example for my kids. And since I was given the opportunity to learn more about Raley’s – one of the sponsors of the sold out Napa Valley Marathon , I tried to look for unique ways to get motivated about grocery shopping, meal prepping, and healthier snacking. Here are a few ways I was able to find inspiration through Raley’s!
- Fighting sugar cravings – One of my nutritional weaknesses is sugar! I’m definitely a sweets person and it’s something I struggle with almost daily. But Raley’s offers a shelf guide that lists out lots of options that don’t contain added sugar. And while I don’t have a Raley’s near me, it’s helpful to have an easy place that lists out good food options that I could snack on or add to a lunch bag.
- Giving back – Raley’s is committed to giving back to local communities by fighting hunger and bringing healthy food to those in need. They also partner with hundreds of organizations to make a larger positive impact and to serve in a greater capacity. You can learn more about these organizations as well as how to get involved with the #GoodNeverStops initiative here: https://www.raleys.com/goodneverstops/
Overall, I’ve picked up some great tips from Raley’s and I love that they are committed to not only fighting hunger, but to also provide runners with helpful nutrition advice.
What’s your most valuable nutrition tip? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear!
Also, have you run the Napa Valley Marathon? What did you love about it?
